Today I am going to do a bathroom storage makeover and try to sell it for profit. So let’s get started.
Just like I said in my previous makeover video, in Berlin you can find nice furniture just on the street because the locals tend to leave it outside in case someone else needs it.
I found this nice bathroom storage in my neighbourhood and decided to renovate it. But first, I need to examine to see what exactly needs to be done.
I start with unscrewing the old magnet.
Now, let’s get rid of the old metal part and the white plastic that I have no idea what was for. Fortunately, all the screws are standard and easy to unscrew.
From the bottom part of the storage, I would like to get rid of this little patch with the company name, Bäderwelt. For that, I am using a smaller screwdriver.
Now, I am going to sand the bathroom storage and prepare it for new paint.
In the local hardware store, I found this cute wooden door handle that has the same measures I needed. Wow, this looks fantastic.
Now, I want to place the new magnet in the middle of the door, so that the pressure I put to open it using the door handle would be minimal. I mark where I want the magnet to be located and just using a little bit of force on the screwdriver, I have placed the magnet where I wanted. The wood was pretty soft, so it was quite an easy task.
On the door itself, I marked where the metal part of the magnet should be placed and I screwed it in, too.
For the holes that are left from the patch, I am using wood filler and a bit more sandpaper.
The very final step is to paint the exterior of the bathroom storage. I have chosen a black glaze and I gave two coats of it over two days as it takes a bit of time to dry. But already after the very first coat, it looked so nice, that I could leave it as is. With a smaller brush, I paint smaller details of the bathroom storage as well as the door handle.
The next day, when the glaze dried, I styled the bathroom storage to see how it could look in the bathroom and I must say, it ended up looking amazing!
What do you guys think about this bathroom storage makeover?
The total cost of the materials for this project is 24.87€. My idea is to put a price tag of 50€ and try to sell it online. Do you think there is a chance for me to sell it for profit? Let me know in the comment section below.
