The beds will not be stable if they are entirely made of pallets. The four corners of the beds are most important for supporting a bed that is constantly bearing the impulse and shear stresses. The four corners need to be strong 10x10cm studs. The joint with the pallet board may be technically easy to make but to have it aesthetically pleasing will be a great challenge. The entire project is challenging but not impossible if you plan.
Just stack them on the ground as tall as you want. Done.
Paint the pallet your choice of colour and use it as your box spring. Place the mattress on one side & you’ll have like a ledge on one side & towards the end.
Don’t bring pallet wood into your home. Too many chemicals spilt or used to treat the wood. They just spray them off and send them off to a recycler who sends them to other places.
That’s not always true. They have food grade pallets that are for food loads only. I know I’m a truck driver and have had entire loads rejected at Costco because the food product was on the wrong pallets and not food grade. Food grade pallets are heat-treated to kill insects and larva and stamped and most require a pest control certification.
I have found through research that MB code is bad but HT, DB, KN are all our codes safe to use.
