Hello from sunny Berlin. Today is +34 degrees celsius and I am melting. I can’t stand the heat at home, so I decided to discuss with you the outdoor furniture trends in 2022 because it’s about time to get outside!
Of course, this post is written for readers with patios, backyards, gardens, terraces or rooftops. Every space that is allowing us to enjoy the sun outside. Let’s have a look, what are this year’s trends!
Outdoor furniture trends in 2022
Sustainable
Sustainability is the keyword in 2022. Everything that could be re-used, re-cycled, or upcycled is good to go. Use natural material and combine it with fabrics, add home decor and throw pillows et voila! A beautiful outdoor seating area is ready. If you don’t have old furniture that you can use, perhaps you can find something in your neighbourhood for free?
Minimalistic
Undeniably, more is more was always a thing for outdoor spaces. But 2022 changes the direction and we see a lot of simple, minimalistic designs with durable furniture, that would actually survive any weather elements.
Colour splash
If you know, the outdoor furniture is not unique in terms of colours. It is always earthy tones, beige, and wood colours. Hopefully, it becomes more and more popular to add some colours to the outdoor spaces. Add a new flashy upholstery to the chairs, or simply use colourful throw pillows to add up some interest.
Indoor furniture outside
I don’t know what it is, but indoor furniture looks so stunning outside. Maybe because it is unexpected, or maybe it brings some homey feeling outside. Whatever it is, it is trending now and you can use your old couch or armchairs outside and create a little oasis of comfort.

If you are the kind of person, who needs something functional, modular outdoor furniture is the solution for you! You can move things around according to your needs. Do you have a romantic dinner with your partner or host a BBQ party? The same furniture can be of perfect use if it comes in modules.
